A little About Us
Henk de Cocker is a small business with a big love for thoughtful little touches. It all began with a simple idea: how can you give a guest and their faithful four-legged companion an equally warm welcome in a hotel where hospitality is felt in every detail?
That idea grew into handmade toys, home-baked dog biscuits and carefully put-together welcome packs for hotels. No large production lines, just plenty of hands-on work, care and a generous helping of fun.
From the first idea to the final ribbon, most things here pass through my own two hands.
And somewhere along the way, a new idea took shape.
From Dog Biscuits to Candles
Alongside the hotel welcome packs, I wanted to create something that could find its way not only into hotels, but into people’s homes too. Something with the same attention to detail, a beautiful appearance and a little sense of humour.
A scented candle.
But not just any candle. One you can give as a gift, enjoy yourself and hopefully smile about before you’ve even lit it.
"Light me when the dog farts".
Because life doesn’t always have to be so serious.
Made With Care
Having an idea is one thing. Bringing it to life is another. While I make most of the hotel welcome packs myself, I deliberately chose to work with a professional manufacturer for this candle.That’s how I found Echoes Lab.
A company where craftsmanship, carefully selected ingredients and a love for fragrance come together. In their workshop in Istanbul, the candles are hand-poured using a carefully developed formula. Exactly the kind of attention to quality and detail I was looking for.Together, we worked on the concept, the fragrance, the composition, the design and the packaging. We tested, adjusted, reconsidered and adjusted again. Because coming up with an idea is fun, but actually bringing it to life sometimes requires a little more patience than expected.The result is my very first product created for customers at home. Thoughtfully developed, professionally made and entirely in the spirit of Henk de Cocker.
What's Inside?
The candle features Mystic Amber, a warm blend of bergamot, spicy notes, sandalwood, vanilla and amber.
Each candle is hand-poured using a blend of soy and beeswax and free from paraffin. The cotton wick has been carefully selected to complement the wax blend, allowing the candle to burn beautifully and evenly.
With 200 grams of wax and a burn time of over 40 hours, it’s made to be enjoyed for many cosy moments.
A little moment of warmth, with a wink.
A Little Common Sense
A candle is meant to create a little atmosphere. So please place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials and draughts.
And although I do love a creative idea, this candle is not meant to be eaten. I wouldn’t recommend any other experiments either.
So use it for what it’s made for: light it safely, enjoy the fragrance and leave the rest to your imagination.
Any other use of this candle is entirely at you own risk.
Blocked Nose or a Dog That Won't Fart?
Treat yourself to a lovely steam bath, take a deep breath in and slowly breathe out.
Feel free to try this exercise together with your dog. Just relax and let everything loosen up. Who knows what might come out.

Return shipping costs are at your own expense.
Please make sure the candle is returned in its original condition, carefully packaged with the same love and attention it received on its way to you.

Behind Henk de Cocker, there’s no big team, no anonymous customer service department and no factory full of people.
Just a small business, a head full of ideas, two hands that love making things and a dog who, without even knowing it, is the reason it all began.
